Exterior Painting Services
Whether masonry, timber, or uPVC surfaces, we prepare, prime, and finish every exterior surface correctly.

Masonry and Rendered Walls
Rendered facades are common across Windsor town, Eton, and Old Windsor. Georgian and early Victorian properties in the Castle conservation area use lime-based render that requires breathable masonry coatings.
Windows and Woodwork
Sash windows are near-universal on Georgian and Victorian properties throughout Windsor town and Eton. They require careful stripping, rot repair, and correct priming before any finish coat goes on.
Fascias, Soffits, and Gutters
Fascias and soffits protect the roof line. When they begin to deteriorate, water gets in. We repaint timber fascias where they are sound and advise on replacement where they are not.
Garage Doors
A garage door takes more weathering than almost any other surface. It faces the street, absorbs UV and damp, and is rarely given the same attention as the front door.
We prepare, prime, and paint timber and metal garage doors to match the surrounding exterior. For a dedicated overview, see our garage door painting page.
For a detailed breakdown of masonry preparation, see our masonry painting page and wood painting page.
Exterior Painting Costs in Windsor
Exterior painting typically costs between £20 and £45 per square metre, including preparation and two finish coats.
Surface Area
A large detached villa in Virginia Water has considerably more wall area than a 1960s semi in Slough’s southern fringe. Access requirements also increase with height.
Surface Condition
Render in poor condition needs repair before painting. Timber in poor condition needs stripping. Heavy biological growth on north-facing walls adds treatment time.
Paint System
Standard masonry paint is the most economical option. Specialist breathable systems cost more per litre but the service life justifies the difference on period and lime render facades.
Front Door and Porch
The front door is the first thing visitors see and the first thing buyers notice. A well-prepared and freshly painted timber door transforms the street presence of a Georgian townhouse in Windsor.

Typical project ranges: 1960s semi (£1,900–£3,400), Edwardian semi (£3,000–£5,500), or Georgian townhouse (£4,500–£7,500). For a combined interior and exterior project, see our house painting page for combined project pricing.
How It Works
1. Site Assessment
We visit and check every surface. We note surface type, existing coating condition, render integrity, and any biological growth. We identify repair work needed before painting starts.
2. Surface Preparation
We clean moss, algae, and loose material. Render is repaired where needed. Timber is stripped to sound material. Biological growth is treated before rinsing.
3. Priming
Bare timber gets a specialist exterior timber primer. Masonry gets a masonry primer suited to the surface. The right primer for each surface separates finishes that last from ones that fail early.
4. Paint Application
Exterior paint needs a dry window to cure properly. We monitor Thames Valley weather forecasts and plan application phases around them. Two finish coats are standard. High-exposure surfaces get a third.
5. Inspection and Touch-up
Once the final coat has cured, we inspect all surfaces in good light. Touch-ups are completed before we leave. We walk through the finished work with you before closing the job.
